Panchan das is a 47 years old shrimp farmer from the village of Panchagada, Balasore district, Orissa. He has 6-year experience in the field. He is not only culturing shrimps also doing fish farming and fish selling business. He has been blessed with 2 children. He is involved in farming with his family. He owns a farm area of 3 acres which is used for shrimp and fish culture.

He is under the service guidance of SALEM MICROBES PRIVATE LIMITED. We have been monitoring the shrimp ponds with the field staff and water samples analyzed by our AOC lab at Navasari.

The ponds were stocked (40pcs/m2) with PCR Tested seed brought from CAA certified hatchery on March and harvested in the second week of June due to the better price. He achieved 80% survival and the FCR rate is 1.3 with the support of SMPL.
