APPLICATION: H2S ODOUR & FILAMENTOUS BACTERIA CONTROL

DESCRIPTION
THIOBIND–S unique biodegradable formulation intended for prevention of H2sS in the treatment system. It is a blend of Bacillus species of bacteria and peat extract which synergistically helps in the prevention of formation of H2S which is corrosive to the treatment system.
The enzymatic action of the bacillus species prevent proliferation of filamentous microbes in the aerobic treatment process thereby improving the settling time of the sludge.

APPLICATIONS
  • Minimizes municipal waste odour.
  • This is used as a odour control product in new system start-up protocol or in system recovery process.
  • Additionally this binds ammonia in the animal farming setup.
  • The heavy enzymatic action of bacillus species prevents clumping of filamentous microbes in the aerobic treatment process improving the treat ability of the waste.
  • The strains are tolerant to large inflows of osmotic stress components which is common in the textile and animal hide processing industry.
DIRECTIONS

The product being a spore suspension needs to be activated, the product is diluted in water in the 1:1 ratio so as to activate and yield prompt results. Being a microbial product this should not be mixed with strong detergents and disinfectant residual containing water.

To Eliminate Hydrogen Sulfide Odors and Corrosion, in Waste Treatment Plants and Lagoons:
Meter product into system as close to the source generating the highest levels of hydrogen sulfide.

Use the following formula to shock the system on Day 1:

(Max H2S in ppm) x (liters Maximum Effluent Daily Flow)/1,000,000

= Liters of THIOBIND–S to apply

The resulting answer gives dosage in gallons, and should provide a decrease of 60 to 75% hydrogen sulfide concentration at the end of the first 24 hours of application.
Day 2 : Reduce dose to 60% of Day 1 application rate
Day 3 : Reduce dose to 40% of Day 1 application rate
Maintenance : Continue reducing dosage by 10% a day until odor begins to return, and then maintain slightly above that level. Experience has shown that rates as low as 2 ppm has been effective.

For Lift Stations with H2S Odors : Apply 100 to 200 meters uplink from the problem station.
To Control Foaming from Nocardia & Other Filamentous Species: Spray full-strength, heavily directly onto the foam in the clarifiers until foam abates, with a dosage of approximately 10 ppm (up to 20 ppm for emergency treatment of severe foam). When applying THIOBIND–S for this application, always order sufficient supply that you can apply as much treatment as is needed to eliminate foaming and bulking in final clarifiers IN A SINGLE DAY.
If treatment must be stopped before foam has been totally eliminated and settling achieved, repeat FULL treatment the second day this is because the bacillus species have to digest away the filamentous bacterial cell wall completely, if a incomplete job is performed in the first application there is a very strong chance of the revival of the filamentous and gram negative bacteria in a very short period of time.
To Settle Suspended Solids in a Recreational or Decorative Pond : Use 5 ppm, applied evenly around the pond, all in ONE DAY. For example: For a pond of 1 hectare add 50 liters of THIOBIND–S to settle the suspended solids. If you want to maintain green water micro algae avoid using any flocculating product including THIOBING–S, as these can potentially settle algal mass.
For H2S AND Ammonia Odor Control at Turkey and Pig sheds : For each 1000 square feet of shed area dilute 500 ml of THIOBIND–S in 10 liters of unchlorinated water and apply with agricultural sprayer once a week. Keep the applied area damp until the initial change is seen, do not flood.
For H2S and Ammonia Odor Control in Chicken grow out sheds : For each 1000 square feet of shed area dilute 2 liters of THIOBIND–S in 10 liters of water and apply using a backpack sprayer. Apply once in 10 days.

 
PACKAGING AND HANDLING

THIOBIND–S is packed in plastic jerry cans of 50 liters and 200 liters. Store in a cool dry place. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and open wounds. Wash hands with soap and water after handling.
