Product Technical Bulletin

APPLICATION : LAKE REMEDIATION – ORGANIC DEGRADER

DESCRIPTION

LAKE REMEDIATION- ORGANIC DEGRADER is a concentrated dry blend of bacteria designed to degrade organic matter rapidly. This product can be used in natural-bottom lakes and ponds to combat the problems resulting from high organic loading which typically arises from run-off or from fecal matter contributed by resident or transient animals — murky water, suffocation of fish and foul odors.

LAKE REMEDIATION – ORGANIC DEGRADER also degrades nominal levels of contamination by pesticides and other synthetic organic contaminants. Contains 5 strains of endospore-forming Bacillus and 5 strains of gram-negatives.

CHARACTERISTICS
Bacterial count 5 billion CFU/gram
Appearance Free flowing, brown powder
Odor

Yeast-like

pH Neutral
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
  • Promotes an aesthetically pleasing aquatic environment.
  • Not harmful to fish, wildlife, farm animals, or humans when used as directed.
  • Reduces turbidity, sludge buildup, and the potential for anaerobic conditions and foul odors.
  • Oxidizes sulfide and mercaptans in aerobic environments
  • Fatty acid degrading to complete FOG digestion.
  • Effective over a wide temperature range (39 O F to 110 O F) and pH range (5.9 to 9.0).
  • Effective over a wide pH range of 6.0 to 8.5.

APPLICATION

For general application rates. Our service representative will prescribe both the initial application and the weekly maintenance doses taking into consideration such factors as the size of the particular water body, total weekly inflow and outflow, amount of shade vs. sun, fish and fowl loadings, and levels of pesticides or other contaminants.

Be aware that a heavy rainfall may bring significant contamination with its runoff, and a one-time dosage equal to the initial application may be needed to restore control.
Mechanical aeration may be needed where natural aeration is deficient.

For optimum bacterial performance, hydrate LAKE REMEDIATION – ORGANIC DEGRADER before application in the evening. Thoroughly mix each lb of dry product with two gallons of warm (approx.70 O F) water from the water body to be treated.

Allow the mixture to hydrate for two hours, stirring vigorously every ½ hour. After final settling, carefully pour off the top liquid layer for use, squeeze all liquid from the bran that has settled into the liquid and dispose of the remaining bran.

Avoid use of algaecides, herbicides, and antibiotics when using LAKE REMEDIATION –ORGANIC DEGRADER.
