Product Technical Bulletin

LAKE REMEDIATION- AMMONIA CONTROL is a concentrated dry blend of bacteria designed to consume ammonia and nitrite rapidly. This product can be used in natural-bottom lakes and ponds to combat the problems resulting from high nitrogen loading which typically arises from runoff’s and other Eutrophication aggravators like low oxygen , sudden rainfall, improper daylight , seasonal low temperatures, imbalanced food-chain in pond and lakes.

LAKE REMEDIATION – ORGANIC DEGRADER Contains 4 strains of endospore-forming Bacillus which have been selected based on their adaptability to low DO conditions and temperature extremes.

Appearance Free flowing, brown powder
Odor Yeast-like

Ammonia Oxidation Rate 5- 6- mg NH3/liter/hour*
  • Promotes a healthy aquatic environment for lakes, aquariums and small ponds.
  • Reduces or eliminates loss of valuable fish and other species due to toxic ammonia concentration.
  • Effective in BOTH fresh and seawater.
  • Effective even at relatively high BOD/COD (under 200 ppm)
  • Effective over a wide temperature range (49 o F to 149 o F).
  • Effective over a wide pH range (6.5 to 8.5).
  • Performs best at 7 to 8 pH.

For general application rates. Our service representative will prescribe both the initial application and the weekly maintenance doses taking into consideration such factors as the size of the particular water body, total weekly inflow and outflow, amount of shade vs. sun, fish and fowl loadings, and levels of nitrogenous compounds or other runoffs from nearby agricultural sources.

Be aware that a heavy rainfall may bring significant contamination with its runoff, and a one-time dosage equal to the initial application may be needed to restore control.

For optimum bacterial performance, hydrate LAKE REMEDIATION – AMMONIA CONTROL before application in the evening. Thoroughly mix each lb of dry product with two gallons of warm (approx.70 O F) water from the water body to be treated.

Allow the mixture to hydrate for two hours, stirring vigorously every ½ hour. After final settling, carefully pour off the top liquid layer for use, squeeze all liquid from the bran that has settled into the liquid and dispose of the remaining bran.

Avoid use of algaecides, herbicides, and antibiotics when using LAKE REMEDIATION – AMMONIA CONTROL.

Store in a cool place. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and open wounds. Wash hands with warm, soapy water after handling.
